James is a Commercial Insurance Administrator. He is a member of the Commercial Team and is responsible for maintaining commercial policies and generating new business policies.
James is tasked with developing relationships and negotiating with customer and insurance companies, delivering quality customer service and helping customers understand the terms and extent of their cover, gathering information from clients for risk profiles, calculating quotations, monitoring and contacting new clients as well as various administrative tasks.
Following an undergraduate and doctorate in history at Trinity College Dublin James started his professional career as an advertising representative in the Irish Times. He also worked as a freelance historical researcher in the genealogy, film and heritage sectors. Subsequently, he embarked on a career change and obtained a Master’s in Business Management from Dublin City University in 2019. Soon after, he began working in Sheridan Insurances.
We asked James what was one thing that he liked about working at Sheridan Insurances? He was quick to respond and share that, although he has only recently joined the team, he has gained a wealth of experience and has settled well into the office environment. The team has been warm, welcoming and always available if you need them. He feels that he has developed both personally and professionally throughout the last year and looks forward to a long career in the Insurance Brokerage Industry. He recently obtained a certificate in Insurance qualifications and is a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
In his spare time James enjoys soccer, he follows Everton football club. He enjoys following GAA and Rugby or reading up on current affairs and historical studies.
